We can now count another mixed Korean who will compete on a reality TV show as Dia Frampton, of the indie pop rock band Meg & Dia, has been confirmed as a contestant on NBC’s new reality show, The Voice. The show premieres tonight Tuesday, April 26, 2011. She joins Super Bowl MVP Hines Ward of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars and Joseph Goode of VH1’s Wedding Wars in the reality TV competition world. Here is the show’s info (from NBC’s The Voice Facebook Page): If you are a singer and you think you have what it takes, go to the casting website to register for auditions! We are looking for singers of ALL MUSICAL STYLES. 18 years and up with no age cap. If selected, you will be coached by music industry professionals, compete weekly in front of a panel of judges, and America will decide which singer will be worthy of the grand prize. But first singers must go through “Blind Audition” where the coaches will listen with their back towards singers. If a coach wants you on the show then they must commit to the singer as a coach. If more than one coach commits then the singer gets to choose their coach! We interviewed Dia and her sister Meg here on HalfKorean.com last month and the group just released their new full-length album, Cocoon, this month. The group had canceled tour dates this spring due to “obligations” that Dia had and now we know why. Go Dia, we’ll be rooting for you!
