Jackie Chain just released his new street/mixtape album Ballers Eve & DJ Burnone Present: Who Da Mane last week. The Hunstsville, Alabama native rapper has built a steady buzz the past couple years with his highlight being the single “Rollin'” which was released in 2008. He is signed to Universal Motown and his major label debut album is scheduled for release Spring 2011. Who Da Mane is available as a free download here. Be on the lookout for HalfKorean.com’s interview with Jackie which should be posted by January 2011. The Halfbreeds release “Mixed Tape!” and new holiday track

Got word from Mars Chung-hun Ortiz of the Los Angeles-based hip hop duo The Halfbreeds that they will be releasing a holiday track on their website this coming Monday December 20, 2010. HalfKorean.com just recently learned about Mars and The Halfbreeds after we met him at our 2010 Los Angeles meet in October. The Korean/Mexican MC, and recent UCSD graduate, has been hard at work with his partner Dan Frapalappa creating music. The duo released their first album of material titled Mixed Tape! just a few weeks ago. The album can be downloaded for free at their official website. Last month they released their first music video “We Play Golf.” We look forward to hearing the upcoming holiday track and what Mars and The Halfbreeds have in store for the future. Phillip Spearman, award-winning world-renown tattoo artist, was recently featured in the November 2010 issue of Skin Deep Magazine. Skin Deep Tattoo Magazine is one of the UK’s best selling tattoo magazines with a huge international reach. The feature gives an overview of Phillip’s background, artistic inspirations and focuses on his continued quest of widening the concept of Asian tattoos to include Korean art. A leading advocate of tattoo art in Korea, Phillip has held many seminars and appearances over the years in the country where it is still illegal to tattoo. It is a great piece and I encourage you all to check it out. I personally had no idea that Korean dragons have four claws while Japanese have three and Chinese have five. We are pleased to present this new HalfKorean.com interview with Kathleen “DJ K-Sly” Taylor.
K-Sly is a recognized and respected Los Angeles-based DJ and radio/TV personality. She can be currently heard on The Ten Spot on Sprint Mobile Radio and spins at a variety of events and clubs in the Los Angeles area and is also routinely booked throughout the country. She has been a DJ/host on major radio stations such as KKBT 100.3 The Beat in Los Angeles and WHTA Hot 107.9 (formerly Hot 97.5) in Atlanta and has also appeared as an announcer/host on TV shows such as Dance 360 and Steve Harvey’s Big Time Challenge.
In 2009, K-Sly released a remix album titled The Outkasts! which featured a full album of remixed Outkast songs and was her first foray into music production.
