For those of you in Korea, make sure to go support our friends at the M.A.C.K. Foundation’s 6th annual BBQ fundraiser. The event will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012 from 1pm-6pm at Platoon in Seoul. If interested, you can RSVP on the Facebook event listing. Here are the details regarding M.A.C.K. Foundation’s event: Rain or shine, we’ll be grilling up some hamburgers, hot dogs, and sausages with a few sides to boot. We will have vegetarian options available as well. We’ll serve the food and if you’d like to drink, the Platoon Bar serves drinks both non-alcoholic and alcoholic. All Proceeds will go to the M.A.C.K. Educational Fund in which we will use it to sponsor and support Multicultural Schools in Korea. Last year M.A.C.K. gave away four 250,000 WON scholarships to students attending the Amerasian Christian Academy (ACA), we were also able to help the school start a Multicultural Library. We have been working with Mr./Pastor Kang the founder and principle of ACA in Dongducheon, Korea for the last 6 years. We have also been sponsoring volunteers to teach special classes at the Asia Community School in Busan. We have also donated needed equipment for the school. This year in addition to our current schools and projects, we will be expanding to help several more marginalized multicultural schools throughout Korea. We hope you will help us to be able to do more and give more! M.A.C.K., Movement for the Advancement of the Cultural-diversity of Koreans, is an international partnership of people from all walks of life whose Christian mission is to help Korea accept the diversity of Koreans so that all can live with love and respect for each other without prejudice, discrimination or conditions from fear of a changing culture and non-accepting attitudes.
